Wedding Venue Terms & Conditions
Appointments for viewings can be made between 9am and 6pm Mondays-Fridays, and on Saturday mornings up until 2 hours before the day’s wedding begins.
Appointments for wedding meetings must be made between 9am and 5pm Mondays-Fridays unless by prior arrangement.
The Great Barn is booked for weddings on an exclusive use basis and there will be no other events held on that day. Please note however that there may be viewings conducted up until 2 hours before the event starts.
Set-up, deliveries and appointments
Set-up and deliveries for weddings are between 9.00am and 6.00pm. Collections are between 9:00am and 12:00 midday the day after the wedding unless by prior arrangement. Appointments for viewings must be made in advance including at weekends.
The bar at The Great Barn closes at 11.45pm and music stops at 12.00am. All guests should have left the premises by 12.20am. Taxis and other transport should be arranged accordingly, prior to the event. All lettings are subject to acceptance of the terms and conditions of The Great Barn.
Final numbers are to be confirmed 7 days prior to the event.
All prices apart from catering include VAT. The Great Barn reserves the right to alter the tariffs without prior notice. The wine list will be amended every January and there may be a slight increase to the wine prices.
Deposits and Cancellations
The hirer will pay A Day in the Country a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total facility hire (and ceremony costs if applicable) at the time of confirmed reservation. The balance is to be paid in full 30 days prior to the event. In the event of cancellation, the following charges will be made: cancellation of a confirmed booking with more than six months’ notice – loss of deposit. Cancellation of a confirmed booking with less than six months notice – 100% of estimated total charge.
Wines and Drinks
All wines and drinks to be purchased from our very competitively priced bar. Wines can be ordered for sampling and these will be charged at the house wine rate and added to the final invoice. There will be a charge of £2.75 per bottle for miniatures that are provided as favours and the Great Barn must be made aware of this prior to the day. Alternatively, we can source miniatures for you at a price of £5.00 per bottle. If having your ceremony at the venue, the bar will open straight AFTER the ceremony.
The Great Barn has appointed Kearneys as sole suppliers and they are to be used without exception for every element of the catering, including chocolate fountains and cheese cakes.
The room in which the Ceremony is held and anything within the room must be of a non-secular nature and not reflect religious beliefs. Smoking or the consumption of food and drink is not permitted before or during the ceremony. Guests should be advised to arrive 15-20 minutes prior to the Service.
If supplying your own entertainment all equipment must be PAT compliant and have Public Liability Insurance.
All marquee extensions must be arranged through The Great Barn.
Damage and Liability
A charge will be made for any damage or loss of the Great Barn’s fixtures and decorations, or to the property including carpets. A standard charge of £15.00 will be added to each invoice as an Environmental Charge.
We do allow confetti outside at The Great Barn, however this should be biodegradable not rose petals due to staining. Plastic table confetti is permitted but must be approved by The Great Barn beforehand.
Children are very welcome at The Great Barn. However, we request that when there are more than 5 under 12 year olds a designated adult is made responsible for the children. If you wish to have a bouncy castle this must be approved by The Great Barn and all bouncy castles will be placed in the paddock by the car park and a supervisor must be on hand at all times to supervise the bouncy castle.
No animals are allowed at The Great Barn without prior permission from the management.
Chinese Lanterns and Fireworks
Due to safety issues and insurance Chinese Lanterns and Fireworks are not allowed at The Great Barn.
