The capacity of The Great Barn is 140 for a sit down wedding breakfast and up to 175 for informal receptions. | The venue comprises two beautifully restored 18th century stone barns which were built in 1770 as part of The Cartwright Estate in Aynho. The Aynho Room and The Croughton Rooms are both licensed for Civil Ceremonies. |

Our next Open Evening is on Tuesday 28th March between 5pm-7.30pm. Do join us for a glass of fizzy and take a look at the barn as a blank canvas. Click here if you wish to attend.
In the meantime we are also open for 1-1 viewings Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and on Saturday mornings.

The Croughton Room
The Croughton Room seats up to 144 for a formal Wedding Breakfast and is also where your civil ceremony takes place earlier in the day. It then turns itself into a fantastic dance area. There is also a minstrel’s gallery which offers an excellent area for your photographer to take shots of your big day.

The Aynho Room
The Aynho Room hosts the bar and more relaxed occasional seating area - a great place for mingling during the Reception and an excellent vantage point for those who wish to sit and watch the throng without feeling left out.

The Anyho Room

Featuring beautiful arrow slit windows, natural 2 foot thick stone walls, exposed beams and log fires. Inside is as beautiful as outside - wood and slate floors, solid oak furniture with leather sofas with candles in the alcoves and fairy lights on the beams.
The Dressing Room
The Dressing Room is a relaxing, luxurious space designed for the bride and her entourage to get ready in. Complete with tea/coffee making facilities we also offer a complimentary bottle of prosecco and pastries whilst you get ready. Alternatively, the bride may wish to hire The Dressing Room for a half day after the ceremony and use it as a place to escape to and refresh her makeup etc.

Garden Cottage at The Great Barn
Light and airy, recently refurbished to a high standard, the cottage has a small fully fitted kitchen downstairs and two large bedrooms upstairs – one with a kingsize bed, one with twin beds. The bathroom is also huge, with a shower and original herringbone parquet flooring. Complete with Egyptian cotton linen and soft fluffy towels, the cottage offers a luxurious yet relaxing experience. A short walk across the Patio Garden from the barn, the front door is only 50 yards away and is the perfect place to rest and recover from the excitement of the day.
Continental breakfast is provided with plenty of croissants & pastries with jams & butter, yoghurts, and fresh fruit. Keys will be available from 6pm (our team are happy to put your bags in the Cottage for you) and guests must have vacated before 11am the following morning.
Available at extra cost to the bridal couple and their children (under 16s) for their wedding night only.
The Farm & Grounds
Set in 250 acres of working farmland with beautiful andscaped grounds, The Great Barn offers stunning views over rolling Oxfordshire countryside. Stroll beneath our majestic beech trees or use the bridges over our lakes to provide fantastic back drops for your wedding photos.
The secluded Patio Garden and large terrace offers plenty of outdoor space for guests to enjoy the sunshine, play garden games or simply relax around the firepit in the evening. The patio has plenty of evening lighting and fairy lights festoon the trees and stables.

Outdoor Ceremonies
The Great Barn is able to offer Outdoor Ceremonies between May-September only (weather dependant). We can sit up to a maximum of 50 on the patio – although those seated at the very edges may have a restricted view.The Bride & Groom themselves must stand just inside the barn doors for the official part of the ceremony (where the barn is licenced) and the legal paperwork must remain on the tables inside.
